Real Sociedad Triumphs Over Espanyol in La Liga Clash
Real Sociedad emerged victorious in their home fixture against Espanyol, winning 2-1 in the 23rd round of Spain’s La Liga.
The hosts took an early lead with Sheraldo Becker finding the net in the first minute. Espanyol equalized through Javi Puado’s penalty in the 56th minute. However, Real Sociedad secured the win thanks to a late goal from defender Brais Mendez in the 84th minute.
Russian midfielder Arsen Zakharyan was named on the bench for the San Sebastian club but did not make an appearance in the match.
With this result, Real Sociedad climbs to 7th place in the La Liga standings with 31 points. Espanyol remains in 16th position with 23 points.
