The 26th round of matches in Spain’s Segunda División (also known as Liga Hypermotion) has concluded. Despite suffering a defeat against Burgos, Racing Santander remains at the top of the league table. Here’s a summary of the results:

  • Friday: Albacete 2-1 Real Zaragoza
  • Saturday:
    • Racing Ferrol 1-3 Castellón
    • Granada 0-0 Mirandés
    • Málaga 1-1 Levante
    • Sporting de Gijón 0-0 Eibar
  • Sunday:

    • Córdoba 1-2 Huesca
    • Cádiz 5-2 Cartagena
    • Deportivo de la Coruña 3-1 Almería
  • Monday: Real Oviedo 0-0 Eldense

After all matches were played, Racing Santander maintains its position at the top of the league, despite losing 2-1 to Burgos. They remain in first place due to setbacks suffered by their closest competitors: Almería lost to Deportivo de la Coruña, while Mirandés only managed a draw against Granada. Huesca, riding a strong streak of performances, moves into second place after defeating Córdoba 2-1 away. Elche continues to climb the table, now occupying third place following their victory over Tenerife.

Sporting de Gijón and Real Oviedo both played out goalless draws against Eibar and Eldense respectively. In the battle to avoid relegation, Cádiz scored an impressive 5-2 win over Cartagena, while Castellón secured a 3-1 away victory against Racing Ferrol.

Current Standings

Racing Santander leads the table with 48 points, while Cartagena sits at the bottom with 15 points. The top six positions are currently occupied by Racing Santander, Huesca, Elche, Mirandés, Real Oviedo, and Almería in that order. If the season ended now, Racing Santander and Huesca would be promoted directly, while the 3rd to 6th placed teams would enter the promotion playoffs. Levante and Granada occupy 7th and 8th places respectively.

The relegation zone currently includes Eldense, Racing Ferrol (with one game in hand), Tenerife, and Cartagena. It’s worth noting that there are still some postponed matches to be played, which could alter the current standings.

Upcoming Fixtures

The 27th round of La Liga Hypermotion is scheduled to take place from February 14th to 17th.
