Rennes Poised to Add Belgian Talent Kazeem Olaigbe to Their Ranks
French Ligue 1 club Stade Rennais FC is on the verge of securing a deal for Cercle Brugge’s dynamic winger Kazeem Olaigbe. The 22-year-old Belgian has caught the eye of Rennes’ scouts, and negotiations between the clubs are reportedly in the final stages.
Olaigbe has been a standout performer for Cercle Brugge this season, netting eight goals and providing one assist in 31 appearances. The former Southampton FC academy player is currently under contract with the Belgian Pro League side until 2027.
Rennes’ interest in Olaigbe comes as they look to bolster their attacking options following the departures of Jota and Amine Gouiri. The club has been particularly active in the winter transfer window, having already secured the signatures of midfielder Seko Fofana, goalkeeper Brice Samba, striker Kyogo Furuhashi, and defender Lilian Brassier.
If the deal goes through, Olaigbe would join a Rennes side that is set to face Strasbourg in their upcoming Ligue 1 fixture. The potential addition of the young Belgian winger could provide a significant boost to Rennes’ offensive capabilities as they aim to climb the league table.
