Rennes Striker Kalimuendo Draws Attention from European Clubs
Reports suggest that 23-year-old French striker Arnaud Kalimuendo has caught the eye of several European clubs, with initial inquiries being made ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window. The talented forward, who came through the Paris Saint-Germain youth academy, has been a subject of transfer speculation for some time.
Last summer, it was widely anticipated that a substantial offer might persuade Rennes to part ways with Kalimuendo. In early August, the club reportedly turned down a €20 million bid from Bundesliga side VfB Stuttgart, though it was believed that the German club was not Kalimuendo’s preferred destination.
Despite Rennes experiencing a tumultuous season, which has seen the club go through three permanent managers due to disappointing results, Kalimuendo has managed to shine. The young striker has impressively netted 11 goals in 25 appearances, including a memorable hat-trick in a 5-0 victory over AS Saint-Étienne in November.
As the summer transfer window approaches, it remains to be seen which clubs will make concrete offers for the promising French U21 international, and whether Rennes will be willing to let go of their prized asset.
