According to recent reports, Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic is allegedly willing to sit out the 2025-26 season in order to leave the club as a free agent when his contract expires next summer.
Juventus is actively seeking to sell Vlahovic this summer, as he is already the highest-paid player in Serie A. His salary is set to increase to €12 million for the final year of his contract in 2025-26. With Vlahovic now in the last year of his deal, this transfer window represents Juventus` final opportunity to recoup a transfer fee for the player.
The Italian club is already making moves to bring in new forwards for the upcoming season. They have finalized a deal for free agent Jonathan David and are in talks for Victor Osimhen and Randal Kolo Muani from Paris Saint-Germain.
Vlahovic has recently turned down approaches from Jose Mourinho`s Fenerbahce and a lucrative €20 million offer from Al-Ahli. Reports suggest that Vlahovic is convinced that leaving Juventus as a free agent in the summer of 2026 is his best option and is prepared to risk being frozen out of the squad for the final year of his contract.
The player reportedly believes that Juventus will not actually freeze him out, given that they would still have to pay him the remaining €12 million on his contract. Juventus hopes the situation will mirror that of Federico Chiesa last summer, who agreed to join Liverpool on a permanent deal at the end of the transfer window after being excluded from the squad for pre-season.
