Rising Star Mahamadou Diawara Secures Loan Move to Le Havre from Lyon
Olympique Lyonnais and Le Havre AC have confirmed that 19-year-old midfielder Mahamadou Diawara will join the latter on a temporary basis. The loan agreement for the France U21 international does not include an option for permanent transfer, with Diawara’s contract at Lyon set to run until 2028.
Despite making 16 appearances for Lyon, Diawara’s playing time has been limited this season, prompting his desire for a move. The talented youngster had expressed his wish to leave during the winter transfer window, having only made four substitute appearances.
This loan marks Le Havre’s second acquisition of the winter, following the signing of Ahmed Hossan. The Norman club is currently struggling in Ligue 1, having lost their last five matches and sitting in 17th place. They face a challenging fixture against Reims, led by their former coach Luka Elsner, in their upcoming match.
For Diawara, this move presents an opportunity for more regular playing time and further development, while Le Havre gains a promising talent to bolster their midfield as they fight to improve their league position.
