Roberto De Zerbi Emerges as Top Candidate for AC Milan Manager Position
Recent reports suggest that Roberto De Zerbi has become the leading contender to succeed Sérgio Conceição as the manager of AC Milan. The Italian club is reportedly looking to return to domestic leadership after experiencing tenures with foreign coaches.
Despite the possibility of Conceição securing silverware in the Coppa Italia, his future at the club appears uncertain beyond this season. AC Milan’s management is keen on bringing an Italian manager back to the helm of the team.
In a significant development, De Zerbi’s representative allegedly met with Fabio Paratici in Milan. Paratici, formerly associated with Tottenham Hotspur, is expected to assume the role of Milan’s sporting director at the conclusion of the current season.
However, the situation is complicated by De Zerbi’s existing contract with Olympique de Marseille, which runs until 2027. It remains to be seen whether AC Milan can meet the French club’s valuation, particularly considering Marseille’s ongoing pursuit of a Champions League spot. In light of these challenges, the Italian giants are also exploring alternative options for the managerial position.
