Roma and Lazio Reveal Europa League Squad Modifications for 2024-25 Campaign
Both Roma and Lazio have officially announced alterations to their UEFA squad rosters for the ongoing 2024-25 Europa League season. UEFA regulations permit teams to make adjustments to their squads midway through competitions, allowing up to three new additions to the ‘A’ list while removing an unlimited number of players.
Additionally, clubs can include players on their ‘B’ list provided they were born after June 1, 2003 and have spent at least two consecutive years with the team’s youth academy.
Roma’s Squad Updates
Roma manager Claudio Ranieri faced some tough decisions after bringing in five new players during the January transfer window. However, only three could be added to the Europa League squad, resulting in Anass Salah-Eddine and Lucas Gourna-Douath being left out.
Key changes to Roma’s ‘A’ list include:
- Goalkeepers: Added Gollini
- Defenders: Added Rensch and Nelsson
- Removed: Ryan, Hermoso, Le Fee, and Zalewski
Lazio’s Minor Adjustment
Lazio made just one alteration to their Europa League squad, bringing in Elseid Hysaj to replace Luca Pellegrini. Despite signing Arijon Ibrahimovic, Reda Belahyane, and Oliver Provstgaard in January, none of these new acquisitions were included in the UEFA squad.
The sole change to Lazio’s ‘A’ list:
- Defenders: Added Hysaj, removed Pellegrini
Both Roma and Lazio will be looking to make a strong impact in the Europa League knockout stages with their updated squads as they continue their European campaigns.
