According to Italian sources, AS Roma has increased their bid for Claudio Echeverri, proposing a loan deal with an option to buy for €33 million. The offer includes a €40 million buyback clause for Manchester City.
Echeverri has expressed a strong desire to join Roma, where he would have the opportunity to play alongside fellow Argentinians Paulo Dybala and Matias Soulé. The young talent has already declined an offer from Girona, leaving Roma to negotiate terms with Manchester City.
Echeverri Favors Roma Transfer
The proposed deal remains a loan with a purchase option, explaining the higher figures compared to a straightforward transfer. After an initial €25 million offer was rejected, Roma has now put forward a package totaling €33 million.
Simultaneously, Manchester City would retain a €40 million buyback option for the forward. This arrangement ensures that if Echeverri flourishes at the Stadio Olimpico, Roma would still profit from any potential transfer back to City.
Manchester City acquired Echeverri from River Plate in 2024 for €18.5 million. However, his appearances for the English club have been limited to just three competitive matches, with one goal scored in the FIFA Club World Cup.
