AS Roma has reportedly reached an agreement with Danish club Nordsjaelland for the transfer of Norwegian forward Ola Solbakken. This move comes just two and a half years after Solbakken`s arrival from Bodo/Glimt.
Sources indicate that Solbakken has already traveled to Norway for medical examinations, with both clubs currently finalizing the necessary paperwork to complete the transfer.
A Brief and Underwhelming Roma Career
Solbakken`s time at the Stadio Olimpico, which began as a free transfer in January 2023, failed to meet expectations. The 25-year-old made only 15 appearances for Roma across all competitions, contributing one goal and two assists.
Unable to secure a regular spot in the team, Solbakken was loaned out to several clubs, including Olympiacos in Greece, Urawa Reds in Japan, and most recently, Empoli in Serie A, where he experienced relegation last season.
A New Chapter in Denmark
Despite being under contract with Roma until June 2027, the club has decided to part ways with Solbakken permanently. This transfer will allow Roma to remove the player from their books while potentially realizing a profit, given that he initially joined on a free transfer.
For Solbakken, who has earned 11 caps for the Norwegian national team, this move represents a chance to revitalize his career. Known for his versatility in attack, capable of playing on either wing or in a central role, Solbakken will aim to rediscover his form in the Danish Superliga.
