Roma Intensifies Efforts to Secure Midfield Targets

AS Roma has stepped up its pursuit of midfield reinforcements, with the club now just €5 million short of Palmeiras` valuation for Richard Rios. Simultaneously, the Italian side continues discussions for RC Lens player Neil El Aynaoui.

Under new manager Gian Piero Gasperini, Roma is looking to reshape its squad, with a particular focus on strengthening the midfield. The club is currently juggling negotiations for both Rios and El Aynaoui, ready to move forward with whichever deal can be completed first.

Rios Remains Top Priority

Roma`s latest offer for Rios is reported to be €25 million plus €5 million in bonuses, bringing them closer to Palmeiras` asking price of €30 million plus add-ons. This significant increase in their bid demonstrates Roma`s determination to secure the Colombian midfielder.

El Aynaoui Still in the Picture

While Rios appears to be the primary target, Roma has not abandoned its interest in El Aynaoui. The club has reportedly agreed personal terms with the Moroccan international, but negotiations with RC Lens remain challenging. Lens is reluctant to sell for less than €30 million, and the player`s recent appearance in a pre-season friendly suggests he is still very much part of their plans.

As Roma continues its efforts to bolster its midfield, fans eagerly await news of a breakthrough in negotiations for either Rios or El Aynaoui. The coming days could prove crucial in determining which player will be joining Gasperini`s squad for the upcoming season.
