AS Roma has intensified its pursuit of Hellas Verona`s center-back Daniele Ghilardi by increasing their initial offer of €10 million. This move is expected to facilitate the transfer, considering Verona`s obligation to pay 50% of any transfer fee to Fiorentina due to a previous agreement.
With Roma`s improved bid, the transfer appears to be in its final stages. The clubs are now addressing the remaining administrative details before proceeding with the medical examination and contract signing.
Rising Star Ghilardi Set for Roma Move
Ghilardi`s journey to Verona began with a loan from Fiorentina in January 2022. The deal included a purchase option, which Verona exercised that July for €380,000, along with a 50% future resale clause. The 22-year-old defender featured in 24 matches for Verona in the 2024-25 season, following loan spells at Mantova and Sampdoria in his initial two years with the club.
The young talent has also made his mark on the international stage, with 16 appearances and one goal for Italy`s U21 national team. Ghilardi`s potential move to Roma marks a significant step in his promising career, as he prepares to join one of Italy`s most storied clubs.
