Napoli striker Romelu Lukaku has shared the devastating news of his father`s passing. Roger Menama Lukaku, aged 58, leaves behind a legacy that deeply impacted his son`s life and career.
Lukaku Expresses Profound Grief and Gratitude
Following Napoli`s recent match against Milan, Lukaku took to social media to announce the sorrowful news. In an emotional tribute, he wrote, “I am forever grateful for everything you taught me. Life will never be the same without you. Your guidance and protection were unparalleled.”
The Belgian international continued, “The pain and tears are overwhelming, but I trust that God will provide me with strength to persevere. Thank you for everything, Dad.”
Roger Lukaku, like his son, was a center-forward who played for several Belgian clubs, including KV Mechelen and Oostende. He also represented the Zaire national team, now known as DR Congo.
Romelu`s brother, Jordan Lukaku, is also a professional footballer who most recently played for Adanaspor in the Turkish Super Lig. He previously spent six years with Lazio from 2016 to 2022.
Currently, Romelu Lukaku remains under contract with Napoli but is sidelined due to injury. He is expected to return to action in late November or early December after being ruled out for several months prior to the start of the 2025-26 season.
