Sancho’s Transfer to Roma Hits Wage Hurdle Despite Club Agreement

Roma and Manchester United have reportedly reached an agreement for the transfer of Jadon Sancho, with a fee of €19 million plus €5 million in add-ons. However, the deal is being held up by the player`s reluctance to accept a pay cut.

Sources close to the negotiations reveal that both clubs are eager to finalize the transfer quickly. Manchester United is particularly keen to avoid losing Sancho on a free transfer next summer when his contract expires.

Wage Demands Causing Delay

The primary obstacle in completing the transfer is Sancho`s unwillingness to reduce his current salary, which is beyond Roma`s financial capabilities. This standoff is frustrating for both clubs, who have already agreed on the transfer terms.

Meanwhile, Roma is proceeding with other transfer business, including medical tests for Leon Bailey, who recently arrived from Aston Villa. The Italian club is anxious to strengthen their attack before the Serie A season begins.

Limited Options for Sancho

Sancho`s options appear to be narrowing. He has reportedly turned down an offer from Besiktas, possibly holding out hope for interest from Juventus. However, patience is wearing thin among all parties involved in the negotiations.

The situation is becoming increasingly urgent for Manchester United, who are aware that Sancho`s value will continue to decrease as his contract nears its end. The club is keen to recoup some value from the player following his loan spell at Chelsea.

As the transfer window progresses, all eyes remain on Sancho`s next move, with Roma hoping the English winger will reconsider his wage demands to facilitate the move to Serie A.
