Sassuolo has officially announced the acquisition of attacking winger Alieu Fadera from Como on a loan arrangement. The deal includes an option to make the transfer permanent, as well as a counter-option for Como.
The transfer, which had been in negotiation for some time, was finalized today. According to reports, Sassuolo will pay a €1 million fee for the one-year loan, with an option to purchase the player outright for an additional €10 million at the end of the season.
Como has retained a buy-back clause, as confirmed in Sassuolo`s official statement. This strategic move allows Como to potentially reclaim the player if his value increases significantly.
Fadera`s Impact in Serie A
The 23-year-old Gambian international only joined Como last summer, transferring from KRC Genk for €5 million plus add-ons. In his debut Serie A season, Fadera made a notable impact, scoring one goal and providing four assists across 28 appearances.
Primarily utilized as a left-sided attacking winger, Fadera started in 20 matches and came off the bench in eight others. His performances have caught the attention of several clubs, ultimately leading to this move to Sassuolo.
With 12 senior caps for Gambia, Fadera brings international experience to Sassuolo`s squad. The club will be hoping that his creativity and attacking prowess will bolster their offensive options for the upcoming season.
