In the 93rd minute of the Spanish Championship 27th round match between Alaves and Villarreal, which Alaves won 1-0, referee Miguel Angel Ortiz Arias issued a second yellow card to Alaves player Antonio Blanco. However, the referee forgot to show him the red card for expulsion.

About 50 seconds later, the referee received a prompt from VAR, stopped the game, and finally sent Blanco off the field. During this brief period, Alaves had a player on the pitch who should not have been there.

The home team finished the match with nine players (goalkeeper Antonio Sivera was sent off in the 58th minute), but managed to hold onto the winning score.
