Serie A: Five Players Suspended for Matchday 29

Five players will be suspended for the 29th matchday of Serie A 2024/25.

The Sports Judge has released decisions following the 28th round of the championship. In addition to Nicolas Valentini of Verona, who was sent off against Bologna, a one-match ban has been given to Kamara (Udinese), Yeboah (Genoa), Sohm and Vogliacco (both of Parma).

Fines were also issued to three clubs: Parma (€15,000), Lecce (€6,000), and Roma (€3,000).

Official Decisions of the Sports Judge

The Sports Judge, Dr. Gerardo Mastrandrea, assisted by Stefania Ginesio and the A.I.A. representative Carlo Moretti, during the meeting on March 11, 2025, made the following decisions:

A) Club Decisions

The Sports Judge noted that during the matches of the ninth round (return leg), supporters of Como, Hellas Verona, Lazio, Lecce, Milan, Napoli, Roma, and Venezia introduced and used pyrotechnic material of various kinds (firecrackers, smoke bombs, and flares) within the stadium, violating Article 25, paragraph 3 of the CGS regulations.

Considering that the aforementioned clubs jointly meet the conditions of Article 29, paragraph 1, letters a), b), and d) of the CGS,

It is decided, except as specified below, not to impose sanctions on the aforementioned clubs regarding the behavior of their supporters.

Fines to Clubs:

  • €15,000 fine to Parma: For their supporters throwing numerous paper rolls onto the field before the match, causing a five-minute delay to the start of the game. This occurred again at the 8th minute of the first half and the 16th minute of the second half, forcing the referee to stop the match for about a minute each time. Additionally, in the 27th minute of the second half, a bottle and two plastic cups were thrown onto the field. Sanction reduced ex art. 29, comma 1 lett. b) CGS.
  • €6,000 fine to Lecce: For their supporters throwing a water bottle into the opposing team’s supporter sector in the 28th minute of the second half, and for throwing a firecracker and a smoke bomb onto the field during the first half. Sanction reduced ex art. 29, comma 1 lett. b) CGS.
  • €3,500 fine to Roma: For their supporters throwing a firecracker and two smoke bombs onto the field in the 30th minute of the first half. Sanction reduced ex art. 29, comma 1 lett. b) CGS.
