Spain Under-21 National Team Announces Squad for Upcoming Friendlies
Spain’s Under-21 national team coach Santi Denia has unveiled the squad for the upcoming friendly matches against the Czech Republic and Germany. The announcement was made through the Spanish Football Federation’s social media channels. The selected players are as follows:
- Goalkeepers: Pablo Cuñat, Iturbe, Mario De Luis
- Defenders: Andrés García, Juanlu Sánchez, Juan Manuel Herzog, Mosquera, Dean Huijsen, Kike Salas, Gerard Martín, Hugo Bueno
- Midfielders: Beñat Turrientes, Stefan Bajcetic, Mikel Jaureguizar, Javi Guerra, Fermín López, Gabri Veiga, Pablo Torre
- Forwards: Jesús Rodríguez, Alberto Moleiro, Diego López, Mathias Fernández-Pardo, Mateo Joseph, Mayenda
The most notable inclusion in the squad is Mathias Fernández-Pardo, receiving his first call-up. The 20-year-old winger, currently playing for LOSC Lille, is considered one of French football’s brightest prospects. Despite holding Belgian, Italian, and Spanish nationalities, Fernández-Pardo has chosen to represent Spain at the international level.
This squad selection marks the final roster before the upcoming Under-21 European Championship in Slovakia this summer. The Spanish team will face the Czech Republic on Friday, March 21st at 19:30 in Lorca, followed by a match against Germany on Tuesday, March 25th at 20:30 in Darmstadt.
