Strasbourg Supporters: Easing Tensions Between Pro and Anti-BlueCo Factions?

RC Strasbourg Alsace has experienced a divide among its supporters this season, with ultras protesting the BlueCo ownership through 15-minute silences at the start of each match. The UB90 group has expressed concerns about the multi-club model linking Strasbourg to Chelsea, citing fears of identity loss and financial instability.

However, recent on-field success has led to a shift in fan sentiment. Some supporters have been won over by the team’s improved performance and potential return to European competition. This has created a rift between those who continue to oppose BlueCo and those who have embraced the new ownership.

Tensions peaked during a February match against Stade Brestois, where pro-BlueCo fans established their own chant leader, clashing with the silent ultras. However, recent reports suggest that these divisions may be starting to heal. The March 16th victory over Toulouse FC saw a more unified atmosphere in the stadium, despite some lingering disagreements.

While the anti-BlueCo faction maintains its stance against the ownership structure, their recent communications have softened towards opposing fan groups. The prospect of European qualification and the upcoming 35th anniversary of the UB40 group next season could potentially lead to a resolution of the current strike.

Though complete unity among Strasbourg’s fanbase remains a distant goal, there are encouraging signs that supporters may find common ground in their shared passion for the club’s success on the pitch.
