Former Juventus and Italy midfielder Marco Tardelli has expressed his admiration for the Italian national team following their impressive 5-0 victory over Estonia in a recent World Cup qualifier. Tardelli described the team`s performance as “solid” and praised new head coach Gennaro Gattuso for his leadership.
Speaking about Gattuso, Tardelli remarked, “He`s a coach who prioritizes winning, not just playing attractive football. Gattuso demonstrated his strength and determination, and it was evident in the team`s performance. The players showed great effort, and we witnessed something special on the field.”
Italy Dominates Second Half Against Estonia
The match proved to be a successful outing for the Azzurri, despite a goalless first half. Gattuso`s side found their rhythm after the break, scoring five unanswered goals in the second period.
Moise Kean opened the scoring in the 58th minute, followed by Mateo Retegui doubling Italy`s lead ten minutes later. Giacomo Raspadori quickly added a third, while Retegui netted his second and Alessandro Bastoni rounded off the scoring to complete the commanding victory.
This result marks a positive start for Gattuso`s tenure as Italy`s head coach and builds momentum for the team`s World Cup qualification campaign.
