Tare Aims High with Milan, Explains Allegri Appointment

AC Milan`s sporting director Igli Tare has expressed his pride in joining the Rossoneri, stating that he believes there is no higher level in football than Milan. In a recent interview, Tare elaborated on his decision to bring Massimiliano Allegri back as head coach and his ambitions for the club.

Tare, who joined Milan after a long stint at Lazio, revealed that he had always felt his path would eventually lead him to San Siro. “It was something I sensed would happen one day,” he explained. “I`ve been very patient since concluding my 18-year journey with Lazio, and now I`m honored to be part of Milan`s illustrious history.”

The sporting director`s appointment came after a disappointing 2024-25 season for Milan, which saw them win only the Supercoppa Italiana and miss out on European qualification in Serie A. Tare`s arrival marked the beginning of a new era at the club, followed by the return of Allegri as head coach.

Allegri`s Experience Key to Appointment

Explaining the decision to rehire Allegri, Tare said, “The club supported my choice because of Allegri`s vast experience and his ability to manage various situations both within the team and the club. He excels in all these aspects.”

The decision appears to be paying off, with Milan currently sharing the top spot in Serie A alongside Napoli and Roma after five matches, boasting four wins and one loss.

Long-Term Commitment to Milan

Tare emphasized his desire for a long-term stay at Milan, stating, “I want to remain here as long as possible because this club represents the pinnacle. You simply can`t go higher than Milan.” He added, “It`s among the most decorated clubs globally, alongside Real Madrid. Being part of this reality fills me with immense pride.”

The sporting director sees his role at Milan as more than just a job, describing it as a crucial part of his career and life. “There`s a spiritual duty to win with this club and contribute to its storied history,” Tare concluded.

Milan`s next challenge is a high-stakes match against rivals Juventus at the Allianz Stadium in Turin on October 5th, as they look to maintain their strong start to the season.
