Thiago Motta Opens Up About Juventus Exit and Coaching Experience
In a recent interview, former Juventus manager Thiago Motta shared his thoughts on his unexpected departure from the club. Motta expressed disappointment with the premature end to his tenure, especially considering the team was just one point away from the season’s primary objective.
Motta strongly refuted claims of a strained relationship with his players, stating, “Anyone who says I had problems with the squad is not telling the truth. My relationship with all players was excellent, both professionally and personally.” He emphasized that while criticism of his tactical decisions was acceptable, personal attacks based on unfounded rumors were unacceptable.
Reflecting on his time at Juventus, Motta acknowledged there were aspects he would change if given the opportunity. “We did many things well, but there are definitely areas for improvement,” he admitted. The coach highlighted the challenges faced, including injuries and the need to rebuild the team.
Despite the disappointment, Motta views his Juventus experience as valuable for both his professional and personal growth. He expressed readiness to take on new coaching challenges, saying, “I’m prepared to embrace another project and continue my work in the next chapter of my career.”
Motta concluded by addressing the sadness he felt during his final visit to Juventus’ training center, explaining it stemmed from his initial expectations for a longer-term project. However, he remains positive about the future and grateful for the time he now gets to spend with his family.
