A 1-1 draw accurately reflected the Manchester United versus Arsenal match on Sunday, with both teams demonstrating periods of dominance in this Premier League encounter.
Manchester United initially took the lead in the first half thanks to a superb Bruno Fernandes free-kick. However, Arsenal’s Declan Rice responded in the second half, capitalising on missed opportunities from the Red Devils to score the equaliser.

Despite sharing the points, Ruben Amorim could find positives from the game, particularly Bruno Fernandes’s standout performance for his team.
Man United’s Top Performers Against Arsenal
Fernandes shone at Old Trafford, marking his sixth Premier League goal of the season with a brilliant free-kick past David Raya.
With seven assists to his name as well, Fernandes, aged 30, is clearly a vital player for Amorim, especially with forwards like Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund struggling to find form.
While Zirkzee and Hojlund again failed to make a significant impact upfront – Hojlund notably missed a late chance due to Rice’s tackle – Noussair Mazraoui and Diogo Dalot impressed.
Mazraoui delivered three key passes by the end of the match, and Dalot on the left flank created a significant chance while also contributing defensively.
Despite these positive signs, indicating potential for United to climb from their current 14th position, some players underperformed, failing to influence the game against Arsenal.
Man United’s Worst Performer Against Arsenal
While Fernandes’s place in the starting lineup is secure, Christian Eriksen’s performance raises concerns about his future role under Amorim after a lackluster game against Arsenal.

Eriksen, wearing number 14, did not attempt a single dribble and failed to test Raya with any shots on target. Notably, he had fewer touches than goalkeeper Andre Onana (53).

Eriksen’s overall contribution was weak, losing possession 11 times out of 25 passes, approximately once every three touches.
Furthermore, his lack of defensive engagement, winning only one duel, was apparent when Rice scored. Eriksen, the closest player, did little to impede Rice’s equalising shot.
Consequently, Eriksen could lose his starting position to fresher players. Gary Neville has suggested a significant overhaul of the United squad, and with Eriksen’s contract expiring this summer, he might be among those moved on.
Samuel Luckhurst of the Manchester Evening News gave Eriksen a 5/10 rating post-match, noting his minimal impact on the ball, consistent with a season where he has only provided one league assist.

While some Manchester United players continue to prove their worth, others, like Eriksen, appear increasingly likely to depart Old Trafford.
