Top 10 Most Expensive Serie A Player Sales in January
As the January transfer window opens in Serie A, let’s examine the most valuable player sales Italian clubs have made during this period over the years.
Fiorentina’s transfer of Dusan Vlahovic to Juventus for €80 million remains the costliest January deal in Serie A history for both buying and selling clubs. This sale nearly doubled the second most expensive January transfer, when Atalanta sold Dejan Kulusevski to Juventus in 2020.
Genoa has proven surprisingly adept at winter transfers, with three former players appearing in the top 10 list. Most recently, Radu Dragusin joined Tottenham Hotspur for around €25 million in January 2024.
Eljif Elmas’s move from Napoli to RB Leipzig is the only other 2024 transfer to make the top 10 list so far.
