Torino has officially completed the transfer of attacking midfielder Tino Anjorin from Empoli. The deal, worth approximately €5 million, sees Chelsea benefiting from a substantial sell-on clause.
The agreement, finalized in late June, also includes the acquisition of Anjorin`s teammate Ardian Ismajli, who joins Torino as a free agent after his contract with Empoli expired.
While technically structured as a loan with an option to buy, the deal is expected to become permanent easily. Anjorin`s contract with Torino extends until June 2028, with a potential one-year extension option.
Anjorin`s Serie A Journey Continues
The 23-year-old English midfielder, a product of Chelsea`s youth academy, previously had loan spells at Huddersfield and Portsmouth before joining Empoli on a free transfer in August 2024. As part of that transfer, Chelsea retained a significant sell-on clause.
Reports indicate that Chelsea will receive 40% of the €5 million transfer fee paid by Torino, amounting to €3 million. This arrangement showcases Chelsea`s astute business acumen in player transfers.
During his time at Empoli, Anjorin contributed two goals and three assists in 22 Serie A appearances. Despite his efforts, Empoli faced relegation to Serie B at the end of the season.
Anjorin`s move to Torino presents a fresh opportunity for the young talent to continue his development in Italy`s top flight and potentially make a significant impact for his new club.
