Torino Concerned Spartak Moscow May Back Out of Ilic Transfer

Torino is growing increasingly worried that their planned €22 million transfer of midfielder Ivan Ilic to Spartak Moscow may fall through. The deal, which seemed all but finalized, is now in question.

Initially, Torino believed they had secured an agreement to sell Ilic for €16 million plus €6 million in potential bonuses. This would have netted the Italian club a significant profit, considering they acquired Ilic from Hellas Verona for €17 million just last January.

However, as time passes without the transfer being completed, doubts are beginning to surface. This is despite reports that Ilic had already undergone medical examinations for Spartak Moscow.

Spartak Moscow’s Coach Casts Doubt on Ilic Transfer

Adding to the uncertainty, Spartak Moscow’s coach Dejan Stankovic recently made comments suggesting the deal may not go through. He stated, “I don’t believe Ilic will join us. While he’s one of several players our scouts have identified, and the transfer window remains open, I don’t think he’ll be coming. We’ll have to wait and see what happens.”

Ilic, who will turn 24 next month, has made 13 appearances for Torino this season across Serie A and Coppa Italia competitions, contributing one goal and one assist.

As the situation continues to develop, Torino finds itself in a state of limbo, unsure whether they will be able to complete what would have been a lucrative sale for the club.
