Torino’s Quest for Offensive Reinforcement: Beto in the Spotlight

Torino FC is actively seeking to bolster its attacking options for the latter half of the season. The club’s management is determined to provide coach Vanoli with a reliable forward, allocating an initial budget of approximately 7 million euros for this purpose.

Beto, the Portuguese-born Guinean striker currently with Everton, tops Torino’s wishlist. Despite a promising start last season, Beto’s playing time has significantly diminished, with only 10 appearances totaling 197 minutes this campaign. Torino proposes a six-month loan without an obligation to buy, offering 3-4 million euros for the transfer and covering his gross salary until June.

However, Everton prefers to include a mandatory purchase clause of around 20 million euros, a figure beyond Torino’s financial reach. Additionally, Roma has entered the race, leveraging their shared ownership with Everton under the Friedkin group.

Should the pursuit of Beto prove unsuccessful, Torino is considering Marko Arnautovic as an alternative. The Austrian striker has struggled for playing time at Inter Milan, making just five league appearances totaling 66 minutes. Torino envisions offering Arnautovic an 18-month contract, gradually integrating him into the starting lineup.

Giovanni Simeone is another name linked with Torino, but Napoli’s 15 million euro asking price exceeds the club’s budget. While Simeone’s goal-scoring prowess is admired, the financial aspects of the deal currently make it unfeasible for Torino.

As the transfer window progresses, Torino remains committed to securing a striker who can make an immediate impact and strengthen their offensive capabilities for the remainder of the season.
