Tottenham Exploring Summer Move for Lille Midfielder Angel Gomes
Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly setting their sights on Lille midfielder Angel Gomes for a potential summer transfer. The 24-year-old English player, whose contract with the French club expires in June, has emerged as a target for the North London side.
Spurs are said to be in talks with Gomes about a possible move when he becomes a free agent. The club’s interest in the former Manchester United academy graduate comes as they look to strengthen their squad under manager Ange Postecoglou.
Gomes recently returned from injury, featuring in Lille’s recent Ligue 1 match against Strasbourg. When asked about his future, the midfielder remained diplomatic, stating, “My focus is entirely on Lille at the moment. I aim to finish the season strongly, and we’ll see what happens after that. I’m concentrating on the present rather than transfer negotiations.”
As a player eligible to sign a pre-contract agreement with foreign clubs, Gomes has attracted attention from several teams. Tottenham’s interest in the midfielder could signal their intent to bolster their options in the middle of the park for the upcoming season.
