Tottenham Hotspur Eye £38m Forward and Consider Coman

Tottenham Hotspur are in scheduled transfer discussions with a top club as chairman Daniel Levy considers additional forward signings, in addition to a possible permanent deal for Bayern Munich’s loanee, Mathys Tel.

Tottenham Preparing for Europa League Second Leg Against AZ Alkmaar

Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou is focusing on the Europa League campaign, hoping to fulfill his early-season ambition of securing silverware in his second full season as head coach.

Postecoglou watched as his team suffered a 1-0 defeat in the first leg of their Europa League Last 16 match against AZ Alkmaar. He is now planning strategies for the second leg on Thursday to overcome this deficit.

Tottenham’s next five Premier League fixtures Date
Fulham (away) March 16th
Chelsea (away) April 2nd
Southampton (home) April 5th
Wolves (away) April 12th
Nottingham Forest (home) April 21st

Tottenham are currently 13th in the Premier League, having already lost 14 league games. They are also out of both domestic cup competitions after a disappointing season marked by injuries to key players.

Adding to Postecoglou’s concerns, journalist Alasdair Gold reported that defender Kevin Danso might be sidelined due to a muscle injury sustained in Spurs’ 2-2 draw with Bournemouth.

Danso, an Austrian international, was signed late in the transfer window from Wolves to provide central defensive cover after injuries to Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero. He has since become a leader within the Tottenham squad.

His potential absence is a significant setback for Postecoglou, especially given the inconsistent availability of van de Ven and Romero this season.

Tottenham are expected to strengthen their squad this summer to avoid a repeat of their underwhelming 2024/2025 season. Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi is reportedly a primary target for Spurs, and they plan to resume discussions for his signing.

They are also looking to bolster their attacking options. Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman has emerged as a possible target.

Tottenham Could Be Offered Kingsley Coman in Bayern Munich Talks

According to GiveMeSport, Tottenham are scheduled for end-of-season talks with Bayern regarding a permanent transfer for Tel. During these discussions, the possibility of signing Coman is expected to be raised.

It is suggested that Bayern will offer Tottenham the opportunity to sign Coman during these negotiations, as Vincent Kompany’s team is willing to let go of the French player and find him a new club.

Tottenham’s position on pursuing a deal for the 28-year-old, who has a history of injuries, is not yet clear. However, reports indicate that Bayern have set his price at around £34 million.

Levy and Tottenham are keen to make further forward signings alongside a permanent move for Tel, making this a situation to watch closely as the summer transfer window approaches. Rio Ferdinand has described Coman as ‘unbelievable’. Coman has been used more as an impact player under Kompany, scoring six goals and providing four assists in all competitions, with half of his Bundesliga appearances being as a substitute this season.
