Tottenham Secures Deal for RC Lens Defender Kevin Danso
Tottenham Hotspur has reportedly reached an agreement with RC Lens for the transfer of 26-year-old defender Kevin Danso. The North London club is now looking to persuade the player to join their ranks during the winter transfer window.
Danso, who developed his skills in the Reading and Milton Keynes academies, has attracted interest from several European clubs. Stade Rennais, Juventus, and Aston Villa were all linked with the versatile defender. However, Wolverhampton Wanderers appeared to be the frontrunners in the race for his signature, having spent the past month trying to convince Danso to join their relegation battle.
Earlier reports suggested that Wolves were close to securing Danso on a loan deal until the end of the season. However, Tottenham’s sudden agreement with Lens has dramatically altered the situation.
Interestingly, Danso nearly left Lens during the summer transfer window, but a potential move to AS Roma fell through after he failed his medical examination.
As the transfer saga unfolds, it remains to be seen whether Tottenham can successfully convince Danso to make the switch to North London and bolster their defensive options for the remainder of the season.
