Reports from England suggest that Tottenham Hotspur are keen on acquiring Roma`s talented midfielder Niccolò Pisilli. The North London club has been closely monitoring his performance at the Under-21 European Championship.
Pisilli, who will turn 21 in September, recently committed his future to Roma by signing a new contract that runs until June 2029. This new deal includes a salary that progressively increases, eventually reaching €2 million net per season.
As a product of Roma`s esteemed youth academy and a lifelong supporter of the club, it would take an exceptional offer to lure Pisilli away from the Stadio Olimpico. This is especially true given the recent appointment of new coach Gian Piero Gasperini.
Tottenham`s Serious Interest in Pisilli
Some sources, including TEAMtalk and French transfer expert Sebastien Vidal, have even suggested that Tottenham are close to reaching an agreement with Roma for Pisilli`s transfer. However, Italian media outlets have only reported vague interest from the English club.
Selling a homegrown talent like Pisilli would likely be an unpopular move among Roma supporters. The young midfielder has already made a significant impact, appearing in 41 competitive matches for the Giallorossi this season, contributing three goals and one assist.
Pisilli has already earned his first cap for the Italian national team and is currently being scouted by Tottenham representatives at the European Under-21 Championship.
Despite the growing interest from Tottenham, it remains to be seen whether Roma would be willing to part with one of their most promising young talents, especially given Pisilli`s strong connection to the club.
