Tottenham Targeting Rising Star Striker Who Looks Up to Kane

According to recent reports, Tottenham Hotspur have sent scouts to watch Ipswich Town’s young striker Liam Delap in action. The 22-year-old forward, who has openly expressed his admiration for Harry Kane, is attracting interest from several Premier League clubs.

Delap impressed in Ipswich’s recent match against Wolverhampton Wanderers, scoring the team’s only goal in a 2-1 defeat. His performance likely caught the eye of the Tottenham scout in attendance, as well as representatives from Liverpool and Newcastle United who were also present.

With 12 goals for Ipswich this season despite the team’s struggles, Delap has shown his scoring ability at the top level. Pundit Danny Murphy has even suggested the young striker could potentially succeed Kane for England in the future.

Tottenham have found it challenging to replace Kane’s goalscoring since his departure to Bayern Munich. While Dominic Solanke was brought in, injuries have limited his impact so far this season.

Delap, who has been described as “sensational” by some in the media, could command a transfer fee of around £50 million this summer. His admiration for Kane and similarities in playing style make him an intriguing target for Spurs as they look to bolster their attacking options.

The young striker has previously spoken about Kane, saying: “He’s someone I’ve looked up to for ages. He’s got everything. He’s had the most amazing career and he’s still flying. To watch him live is an incredible experience.”

While it’s still early in Delap’s career, his performances for Ipswich suggest he could develop into a worthy successor to Kane at both club and international level if he continues his rapid progress.
