Toulouse’s Rasmus Nicolaisen Expected to Miss Rest of Season Due to Injury
Toulouse FC has received disappointing news regarding defender Rasmus Nicolaisen. The 27-year-old Danish center-back is unlikely to return to action before the summer due to ongoing issues with his Achilles tendon.
Head coach Carles Martinez Novell addressed the situation on Friday, stating, “We’re aiming for Nicolaisen to rejoin the squad when he’s fully prepared, both mentally and physically, to contribute effectively.”
Nicolaisen’s playing time has been severely limited in recent months following an ankle injury sustained during a Ligue 1 match against Lille OSC in October. He briefly returned to the pitch in February for a 30-minute appearance in a Coupe de France fixture against EA Guingamp but experienced discomfort afterward.
The Danish defender is not the only injury concern for Toulouse at present. The club is also dealing with the absences of Joshua King (33), Cristian Casseres (25), and Zakaria Aboukhlal (25), all sidelined due to various injuries.
Despite these setbacks, Toulouse has shown strong form away from home this year, remaining undefeated and securing victories in their last two away league matches with an impressive goal difference of 8-1.
