Tudor Reflects on Juventus Victory and New Tactical Approach
Igor Tudor expressed satisfaction with his debut as Juventus head coach following a 1-0 victory against Genoa. The win marked a positive start for Tudor, who replaced Thiago Motta just six days prior to the match.
Tudor acknowledged the different tactical approach he’s implementing compared to his predecessor. “We’ve only had a few training sessions, but there’s already a noticeable change. Not just in the formation, but in our overall style. I’m aiming for more direct play and a different intensity level,” Tudor explained.
The coach praised his players’ understanding and commitment to the new system, despite the limited preparation time. He emphasized the importance of the result for the fans and the team’s morale.
Regarding individual performances, Tudor commended Manuel Locatelli’s passing ability and Dusan Vlahovic’s overall game. However, he admitted concerns about Teun Koopmeiners’ form, stating, “It’s evident he’s not at his best right now. We need to work on revitalizing his performance, both physically and mentally.”
Tudor’s energetic presence on the sideline was notable, as he remained standing throughout the match, constantly providing instructions to his players. This hands-on approach seems to be part of his strategy to quickly implement his vision for the team.
Looking ahead, Tudor expressed eagerness to have a full week of training with the squad, which will allow for more in-depth tactical work and player development.
