Danish center-back Victor Nelsson is set to make his return to Serie A, as Hellas Verona has reached an agreement with Galatasaray for a loan deal with an option to buy. The total fee for the transfer is reported to be around €4 million.
Multiple Italian media outlets, including Sky Sport Italia and L`Arena newspaper, have confirmed that the two clubs have agreed on terms for the transfer.
The 26-year-old defender previously had a brief stint in Serie A last season, joining Roma on a six-month loan from February to June for a fee of €500,000. However, his impact was limited, with only five appearances for the Giallorossi, including just one start.
Nelsson, who has earned 16 caps for the Danish national team since his debut in November 2020, is expected to arrive in Italy on Wednesday to undergo medical examinations with Hellas Verona.
This move presents an opportunity for Nelsson to establish himself in Italian football after his previous short spell with Roma. Verona will be hoping that the Danish international can strengthen their defensive line as they aim to improve their position in Serie A.
