After Liverpool’s Champions League defeat against Paris Saint-Germain, Virgil Van Dijk, Liverpool’s captain, was seen talking to PSG’s president Nasser Al-Khelaifi and sporting director Luís Campos.
Despite rumors about Van Dijk potentially moving to PSG due to his contract expiring soon, sources indicate that the conversation was not about a transfer.
It’s understood that Al-Khelaifi and Van Dijk have a long-standing good relationship. Van Dijk initiated the conversation with Al-Khelaifi, and then Campos joined them.
During the talk, Van Dijk apologized to Campos for his comments made after the first leg match where he criticized a refereeing decision, saying “It’s not Ligue 1, bro”.
Furthermore, Van Dijk praised PSG’s performance, stating to Al-Khelaifi and Campos that PSG was the best team Liverpool had faced not only this season, but in the last three seasons.
The three also discussed “other situations,” and PSG’s leadership was reportedly very pleased with their discussion with the Liverpool captain.
