‘We Don’t Have Any Limits’: Marquinhos’ Reaction to PSG’s Triumph Over Liverpool

Following Paris Saint-Germain’s victory at Anfield on Tuesday night, team captain Marquinhos (30) suggested that the team believes they can achieve great things in the Champions League.

PSG entered the second leg of their Champions League Round of 16 match against Liverpool with confidence, and their performance justified this belief.

Despite dominating the first leg at home, PSG suffered a loss due to Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson’s strong performance and a late goal from Harvey Elliott. This gave Liverpool an advantage heading into the return leg at Anfield, a ground where no team had previously lost to Liverpool in the Champions League and then managed to qualify. However, PSG broke this statistic on Tuesday.

Ousmane Dembélé scored in the first half, leveling the aggregate score and forcing a penalty shootout. Liverpool’s Darwin Nuñez and Curtis Jones missed their penalties, while PSG converted all four of theirs, securing their place in the Champions League quarter-finals.

Marquinhos conveyed his optimism about PSG’s chances in the remainder of the competition. He stated, “We don’t have any limits, but we must continue to improve and not become complacent. This game felt like a final, but it was only the Round of 16. There is still much more to accomplish.”

PSG manager Luis Enrique echoed this sentiment, describing the victory over Liverpool as “only the beginning.”
