West Ham United are reportedly in negotiations to acquire a new forward as they aim to address their striker shortage at the London Stadium. According to recent reports, the club has set its sights on OGC Nice’s Evann Guessand.

The 23-year-old striker has been in impressive form this season, netting nine goals in Ligue 1 and adding another in the Europa League. Nice reportedly values Guessand at £25 million, which would make him their second-most expensive sale ever.

However, it appears that West Ham’s interest is focused on a potential summer move rather than an immediate transfer. Guessand himself has indicated his commitment to Nice for the remainder of the season, stating, “I’m at Nice. The season is ongoing and we have objectives. I am fully focused on my club and the goals that await us.”

While there is reported interest from German clubs, West Ham seems to be leading the race for Guessand’s signature following initial talks. The potential acquisition of the French striker could provide a long-term solution to West Ham’s attacking needs.
