West Ham United Secures Jean-Clair Todibo in Permanent Deal from OGC Nice
Reports indicate that Jean-Clair Todibo’s temporary move from OGC Nice to West Ham United has now been finalized as a permanent transfer. The 25-year-old defender joined the London club at the beginning of the season on a loan agreement that included a clause for automatic permanent transfer upon West Ham securing their Premier League status for the upcoming season.
With the relegation of Southampton, Leicester City, and Ipswich Town now confirmed, the conditions for activating the permanent transfer clause have been met. The transfer fee is reported to be €42 million, though not all of this sum will go to OGC Nice.
Barcelona, Todibo’s former club, had included a sell-on clause when they transferred him to Nice. As a result, the Spanish giants are set to receive 20% of the transfer fee, amounting to €8.4 million. This financial boost comes at a crucial time for Barcelona, who continue to face significant economic challenges.
The completion of this transfer marks a significant move for West Ham United, strengthening their defensive lineup with the permanent acquisition of the French center-back.
