German club VfL Wolfsburg has completed the signing of Danish international Jesper Lindstrom on a season-long loan from Napoli. The deal includes an option to make the transfer permanent for €12 million.
Lindstrom, 25, returns to the Bundesliga after two seasons away. He previously played for Eintracht Frankfurt before joining Napoli in 2023 for €25 million. The midfielder spent last season on loan at Premier League side Everton.
Wolfsburg sporting director Sebastian Schindzielorz praised Lindstrom`s versatility, stating: “We`re signing a dynamic player who can operate across the midfield. His Bundesliga and international experience will be valuable for the team.”
At Wolfsburg, Lindstrom will wear the number 19 shirt. He joins the club`s preseason training camp as they prepare for the upcoming Bundesliga campaign.
The move marks a fresh start for Lindstrom after struggling to make an impact at Napoli. He`ll be aiming to rediscover the form that saw him score 7 goals and provide 4 assists in his final Bundesliga season with Frankfurt in 2022-23.
