Wolves Close to Signing Marshall Munetsi from Reims
Wolverhampton Wanderers are on the verge of securing a deal for Stade de Reims midfielder Marshall Munetsi. The Premier League club has reportedly agreed to a €20 million transfer fee for the 28-year-old Zimbabwean international.
Wolves, currently engaged in a relegation battle, are looking to strengthen their squad for the remainder of the season. The team sits precariously close to the relegation zone, just two points above the drop.
However, as the transfer is taking place on deadline day, Reims will only finalize the deal once they have found a suitable replacement for Munetsi. The French club is said to be targeting Joris Chotard as a potential successor.
Reims may now accelerate their negotiations with Montpellier HSC to acquire Chotard. The midfielder was available during the summer transfer window and is believed to be eager for a new challenge in his career.
If all goes according to plan, this transfer could prove beneficial for all parties involved, with Wolves bolstering their midfield options, Munetsi taking a step up to the Premier League, and Reims potentially securing a promising replacement in Chotard.
