Wolves Consider Bid for 20-Year-Old Brazilian Talent After Scouting Mission
Wolverhampton Wanderers are exploring the possibility of signing 20-year-old Brazilian defender Victor Gabriel following a scouting mission to watch him play live, according to recent reports.
The Premier League club has been monitoring Gabriel’s performances for Internacional, where he is currently on loan from Sport Recife. Wolves sent representatives to observe the young defender in action during Internacional’s match against Gremio at Estádio Beira-Rio on Sunday.
Gabriel has made 12 appearances this season, impressing with his defensive skills. Wolves scouts were in attendance to assess his potential firsthand, though the player was substituted after 77 minutes due to an injury.
While Internacional are keen to secure Gabriel on a permanent deal, Wolves’ interest could accelerate the transfer process. The English club has not ruled out making an offer for the Brazilian defender when the summer transfer window opens.
Signing Gabriel would bolster Wolves’ defensive options, especially with veteran Craig Dawson’s contract set to expire at the end of the season. The young Brazilian could be viewed as a long-term replacement and add depth to the center-back position.
As Wolves look to strengthen their squad for the upcoming season, Gabriel’s potential arrival would continue the club’s trend of recruiting promising Brazilian talent. Manager Vitor Pereira and the Wolves hierarchy will closely monitor Gabriel’s progress as they consider a possible summer bid for the defender.
