Wolves Consider Signing “Unplayable” Winger as Potential Neto Replacement
Wolverhampton Wanderers are ending the Premier League season strongly under manager Vitor Pereira after a difficult start to the campaign. The club has won six consecutive league matches to move up the table.
With the summer transfer window approaching, Wolves are looking to strengthen their squad. According to reports, they have held internal talks about potentially signing West Bromwich Albion winger Grady Diangana on a free transfer when his contract expires.
The 27-year-old Diangana could help fill the void left by Pedro Neto, who was sold to Chelsea last summer for £54 million. Wolves have struggled to adequately replace Neto’s creativity and goal contributions from the right wing this season.
While not a big-name signing, Diangana has over 200 appearances for West Brom with 26 goals and 22 assists. He previously spent time on loan at West Ham, where he was described as “unplayable” by former player Michael Brown.
Diangana ranks highly among Championship wingers for successful dribbles, through balls, and goal-creating actions. He also works hard defensively, ranking in the top 11% for tackles won among wingers.
With Wolves limited in their spending due to financial regulations, bringing in Diangana on a free transfer could prove to be smart business as they look to bolster their attacking options for next season.
