Wolves Launch £10m Bid for Portuguese Midfielder Manu

Wolverhampton Wanderers are once again looking to Portugal for reinforcements, as they aim to sign midfielder Manu from Vitoria Guimaraes. The Premier League club has reportedly made an opening bid of £10 million for the 23-year-old defensive midfielder.

This potential transfer follows Wolves’ recent signing of defender Emmanuel Agbadou and comes amid rumors that current midfielder Mario Lemina may be departing for Saudi Arabia. Manager Vitor Pereira is keen to strengthen his squad as the team battles to avoid relegation.

If successful, Manu’s signing could echo the club’s acquisition of Ruben Neves from Porto in 2017. Neves went on to become a key player for Wolves before his move to Saudi Arabia in 2023.

Manu is known for his versatility, able to play both as a defensive midfielder and center-back. This flexibility could prove valuable for Pereira, potentially allowing Manu to partner with players like Joao Gomes or Andre in midfield.

While breaking into Wolves’ established Brazilian midfield partnership may be challenging, Manu’s arrival would increase competition for places and provide additional options as the team navigates a busy fixture schedule in their fight for Premier League survival.
