Wolves Prioritize Signing of Versatile Attacker Zakaria Aboukhlal in January Transfer Window
According to recent reports, Wolverhampton Wanderers have identified Toulouse forward Zakaria Aboukhlal as their top transfer target for the January window. The Premier League club is keen to strengthen their attacking options as they battle to avoid relegation this season.
New manager Vitor Pereira is looking to reshape the squad after taking over, with Wolves currently just outside the relegation zone on goal difference. The club has already added defender Emmanuel Agbadou and is in talks to sign striker Kelechi Iheanacho on loan from Sevilla.
However, Aboukhlal has now emerged as Wolves’ primary target to bolster their forward line. The 24-year-old Morocco international can play across the front three positions, offering valuable versatility. He has impressed for Toulouse since joining in 2022, scoring 10 goals in Ligue 1 last season and already netting 6 times in the current campaign.
Aboukhlal’s ability to play on either wing or through the middle is seen as a major asset by Wolves. The club has been closely monitoring his performances and views him as an ideal option to improve their attacking depth.
With Aboukhlal under contract until 2026, Toulouse may be open to selling for the right price this month. Wolves will likely need to make a substantial offer to land their top target as they look to secure Premier League survival in the second half of the season.
