He candidly admitted, “To be honest, I would have preferred if Real Madrid had convincingly beaten Arsenal, as it would have secured their manager’s position. When a club like Madrid loses 3-0 in the Champions League quarter-finals, it’s natural for rumors to circulate. I would have liked to avoid these speculations.”

Carro emphasized the strong relationship between Alonso and the club, stating, “We’re planning next season with him, including pre-season matches and squad planning. Xabi has a contract and feels comfortable here.” However, he acknowledged that the final decision rests with Alonso himself.

Many believe that Xabi Alonso is destined to manage Real Madrid in the future, with the only question being when. Carlo Ancelotti’s position at Madrid appears increasingly uncertain, especially if the team ends the season without winning any major trophies.
