Young Dutch Striker Emegha Attracts Premier League Interest
RC Strasbourg’s rising star Emanuel Emegha, 22, may be on the move this summer as Premier League clubs show keen interest in the Dutch forward. Despite Strasbourg’s impressive performance in Ligue 1, currently sitting in sixth place and vying for a Champions League spot, the club faces the possibility of losing key players.
Emegha, who has netted 13 goals in the French top flight this season, has caught the eye of Newcastle United. The English club is reportedly considering him as a potential replacement for Alexander Isak, should the Swedish striker depart. Sources suggest Emegha is open to the prospect of joining the Magpies.
Chelsea has also expressed interest in the young talent, with the London club’s owners having a connection to Strasbourg through BlueCo. The Blues have reportedly presented Emegha with a career development plan in an attempt to secure his services.
Meanwhile, Strasbourg may also see the departure of another promising player, Dilane Bakwa. The 22-year-old winger has attracted attention from Eintracht Frankfurt, with the German club potentially offering up to €30 million for his signature. Several top Italian clubs are also said to be monitoring Bakwa’s situation.
Strasbourg has already taken steps to prepare for potential departures, bringing in Valentín Barco and Samuel Amo-Ameyaw on loan deals with purchase options during the January transfer window.
As the summer transfer window approaches, it remains to be seen whether Strasbourg can retain their young talents or if the allure of bigger clubs will prove too strong for Emegha and Bakwa.
