Bad news for Inter Milan. In the Serie A match against Monza, Piotr Zielinski suffered an injury that appears to be a significant physical setback.
Zielinski, who came on as a substitute in the 70th minute replacing Mkhitaryan, experienced a muscle issue in his calf and collapsed to the ground in pain. Medical staff quickly attended to the Polish midfielder, who had to be helped off the field, unable to put weight on his leg.
This is not Zielinski’s first physical problem this season. Despite making 32 appearances, scoring 2 goals, and providing 3 assists, primarily as a backup to Henrikh Mkhitaryan under Simone Inzaghi, this is his third muscle injury since August. This one seems to be the most serious and could have significant consequences for upcoming crucial matches against Feyenoord in the Champions League and Atalanta, before the international break.
