WHISTLER, British Columbia (AP) — Madeleine Egle of Austria bought her third win in as many races this season on Friday evening, widening her lead atop the ladies’s World Cup luge standings.Egle rallied previous Germany’s Julia Taubitz to win gold on the Whistler Sliding Heart. Egle’s time was 1 minute, 17.137 seconds; Taubitz was simply behind in 1:17.161.Germany’s Merle Fräbel was third in 1:17.182. The U.S. had a really strong evening, with Summer time Britcher ending seventh, Emily Sweeney tenth and Brittney Arndt twelfth.Egle now has 300 factors within the total World Cup standings, with Taubitz (225) second and Sweeney (206) third.Within the males’s race, Germany’s Felix Loch had the quickest time in each heats and received gold over Austria’s Wolfgang Kindl and Italy’s Dominik Fischnaller.For the U.S., Tucker West was fifth, Chris Mazdzer was tenth and Jonny Gustafson positioned twelfth.Kindl moved into first place within the males’s total standings, his 255 factors simply forward of fellow Austrian Nico Gleischer’s 246.
