Former Netherlands worldwide Marc Overmars was admitted to hospital after struggling a “delicate stroke”, Belgian membership Royal Antwerp stated on Friday.
The 49-year-old has served as director of soccer at top-flight Antwerp since March.
“Marc Overmars, director of soccer affairs at RAFC, grew to become unwell final night time and was admitted to hospital with a light stroke,” the membership stated in an announcement.
“Marc is doing properly within the meantime, however should take it simple for some time. Marc and his household concentrate on his restoration and don’t want to remark additional.”
Former Arsenal and Barcelona winger Overmars performed for Ajax Amsterdam from 1992 to 1997 and have become director of soccer on the Dutch membership in 2012.
He stepped down from his job at Ajax in February, having admitted to “unacceptable” behaviour after sending inappropriate messages to a number of feminine colleagues.
